Doordarshan’s D2H Pricing Details, Channels List, Packages, Availability and Cost Per Device

While d2h technology has become a huge competition in the market with private players like Tata Sky, Reliance BIG TV, Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV and SUN direct fighting hard to get highest sales, doordarshan entered the market by the name of DD direct plus. It’s a free service provided throughout the country. The buyer only needs to pay Rs.3000/- which is a one time payment and includes installation charges, cost of dish and the set top box.

Since, it’s a free service the list of channels provided is not very attractive for the “Urban Middle Class”. DD is a government undertaking and hence takes into consideration the majority of farmers living in villages. They have their share of target consumers.

Apart from the 59 TV channels, the service of following radio frequencies is also provided:-

  • AIR Malyalam
  • AIR FM Rainbow
  • AIR Urdu
  • AIR Bangla
  • Radio Kashmir
  • AIR Gujrati

All the above channels are provided depending on the Transpoder frequency, FEC Reception, Symbol Rate and type of Polarization. Each area has an exclusive specific range and after tuning to a particular frequency you cannot tune into a different one. Meaning only one frequency at one time.
