Free “Bhagwad Gita” For Windows Phone 7 [For India Users Only]

by Kabir on June 9, 2011

After the holy book of Christians (Bible), Muslims (Holy Quran), now comes the holy book of the Hindus, the Bhagwad Gita. These holy books are available for download at the Zune marketplace for Windows Phone users. Gita Lite v1.00, which is the file name given to the Bhagwad Gita can be downloaded for free and has complete dialog between Lord Krishna and Arjun at the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Bhagwad Geeta, regarded as the “Book of Humanity”, is presented to all the Indian users just like its previous holy books. It presents to its readers all the philosophies and ideas which are discussed in the Gita, on the go. Finesse, which is the developer of the app has confirmed that, since the app is available in its “Lite” version, only the “Shlokas” contained in the 15th chapter are available for reading.

As you clearly see in the snapshot shown above, the app shows only the “Shlokas” present in the 15th chapter. If the app becomes popular and demand for other chapters increases, they will develop and release the same. The app disappoints in the user-interface, especially the colors which have been used. Pink background doesn’t complement grey at all. But nonetheless, it’s the content that matters. So go ahead and download this app for free.
