HP‘s Think Beyond event in San Francisco has just taken place and what a fine array of WebOS products it has announced. With a little bit of innovation and confidence, HP has announce its new smartphone ‘Veer’ couple of days back at the same event which promises the masses of packing the features they crave without the extra size they don’t.

Indeed, the smallest smartphone in the webOS stable, HP Veer is about to hit the mobile shops/stores coming spring. The size of a credit card and no thicker than a deck of cards, yet it offers the higher-end features of a smartphone, such as easy messaging and access to apps, social networks and the web.

HP Veer has a small 2.57-inch touchscreen display that supports 320×400 pixel resolution. You can slide the top panel vertically to reveal the full physical QWERTY keyboard. Housing an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7230 processor, will come pre-loaded with webOS 2.2 update.

As heard by Jon Rubinstein, senior vice president and general manager, Palm Global Business Unit, HP – “While much of the industry is trending toward larger and larger devices, we believe there’s also a whole lot of room for thinking small. Veer bridges the gap for a new generation of smartphone users, proving they really can have it all without sacrificing the size they want.”

HP Veer is everything a smartphone should be, but in a smarter size.
