Out of the basket of Windows Mobile Pocket PC freeware, comes this application known as ShortenMobile v1.10 that watches the clipboard of your Windows Mobile device and automatically shortens the URLs for you.
The application can be set to run at start up and hides in the background. This application was developed because of the lack of this functionality in HTC Peep(according to the developer Marcell Spies). Currently implemented URL shortening services are as follows:
- bit.ly
- tinyurl.com
- snipurl.com
- is.gd
HOW TO USE THIS APP?
* Install the cab file
* Open ShortenMobile from StartMenu
* Activate the checkbox “Run at startup”
* Click on Hide-Softkey
* Copy any url (including “http://” at the beginning) to the clipboard
* The shortened url is available in the clipboard after the confirmation dialog has been shown
