Smart Phone To Buy Price Below Rs 20,000 Budget In India

by mohit on April 14, 2011

Today, the Indian mobile phone industry is flooded with good feature phones and Smartphones in almost any price range and coming from all the big names in the market – Nokia, Motorola, BlackBerry, Samsung, Acer, HTC, LG, and many more. Now, with enough of choice comes enough of confusion in picking the right one. So here, we are trying to make your job a bit easier. We have selected 5 hot and happening Smartphones that you can put your hands on if your budget allows you to shell off 20,000 bucks and putting forward some of their basic specs and features. Hope that you will like the effort.

The 5 Smartphones we’ll be talking about are

  1. Motorola Defy – Rs. 18,500
  2. Nokia C7 – Rs. 17,300
  3. Acer Liquid Metal – Rs. 20,000
  4. Samsung Wave II – Rs.16,950
  5. BlackBerry Curve 3G – Rs. 15,000

Motorola Defy :

At the very top of my list is the Motorola Defy, that ruggedized handset that’s designed to keep the elements at bay. Protected by Gorilla glass, this device is very capable of handling almost all of your mobile needs and more. It’s even loaded with a secondary microphone to help make your voice calls as clear as possible with active noise cancellation.

Nokia C7 :

The C7 is noted as Nokia’s slimmest smartphone ever – sleek, thin(117.3 x 56.8 x 10.5 mm, Weight 130 g) and specially designed for Social networking on the go. With DivX and XviD codec support you can simply drag and drop your videos onto the 8GB of internal storage for instant playback. The display is encased in Gorilla glass that should keep the scratches at bay. Also features ‘Active noise cancellation’ via secondary mic.

Samsung Wave II :

A lot of good thing being heard about this spectacular mobile device. Samsung has stuck to its guns regarding the OS and has gone with Bada. The Super Clear LCD screen of the Samsung Wave 2 reflects light much less than conventional LCDs. The touch sensors of the Super Clear LCD are mounted directly on the screen without any air layer in between. This leads to an even thinner design and Clearer display.

Curve 3G :

BlackBerry’s smartphone also find a place in the list. The BlackBerry Curve 3G is the next iteration of one of Research In Motions top selling devices. The latest in the Curve series brings 3G to the GSM side and also boasts its BlackBerry 6 readiness despite having been launched with BlackBerry OS 5 preloaded.

Acer Liquid Metal :

Next up is the Liquid Metal which Acer has launched in India this year. It’s a smartphone running v2.2 of Android and sporting a fairly nippy processor and sharp multi-touch screen. It supports XviD and DviX codecs so you can copy paste AVI files onto your microSD cards for playback without the need of downloading an additional player.

Above was some of the basic introduction to all the 5 Smartphones. Now comes the main part – rock solid features/specs. Instead of going the traditional way of listing the specs for each separately, we have thought of an idea to bring them together, in a form of comparison(using a MS-Excel sheet) to get you the better perspective before you go out and spend your money buying one. Here’s the 2 screenshots for the same :-

We hope that you’ll like the work done and will also appreciate the effort put in by the Technixmedia team.
