Use Camera Button To Take Capture Touch Screen Screenshots On Windows Phone 7

All the Windows Phone 7 users(android users as well) must be facing the problem of capturing Screenshots from their devices as it is one important feature missing in Windows Phone 7 and also Android. For the Android devices, the solution has been the release of Ice Cream Sandwich(i.e Android 4.0) Operating System which has this feature in-built. On the other hand, the WP7 users should not despair as they can also capture the screenshots by using their Camera button with the help of an app known as ‘Screen Capturer’ developed by the XDA Forum member.

This little application called Screen Capturer, enables capturing a screenshot using your camera button. Once installed, you can easily capture screenshots of our device, installed apps etc using the camera button. Just follow the following steps and you can do what you were unable to do from your WP7 mobile devices up till now :

Step # 1 : Click “Start Capture Task” to start capturing (A timer will start, and during this period, application will listen to Camera button event). You may need to wait one or several seconds, a message box will show up to let you know you can start catpuring.
Step # 2 : Navigate to any application, and touch Camera button to capture the screen. A message box will show if the capturing is success, you can capture 20 images at one time (and you can always ask for more if you want)
Step # 3 : When the Capture Task ends, a Toast will show up to let you save the captured image, tap the Toast to return to application
Step # 4 : The thumbnail will list and the captured images will be stored in Pictures Hub. Tapping the thumbnail will delete the temporary image file in the application folder.

Few Settings can be done by you.

1. Prevent Capture Task auto run: Capture Task uses BackgroundAgent to run and wait for Camera button event, BackgroundAgent may auto run in some case, enable this option to stop auto capture.
2. The Capture Task duration: How long will the Capture Task run before it stop to accept Camera button event.

Note :

1. Game and movie is not supported in this version.
2. The Capture Task only save temporary file, you need go back to application to trigger saving file to Picutres Hub.
